The name is inspired by ‘chi-chi dango’
a pastel-pink Japanese rice cake and popular Hawaiian dessert my Grandma often made whenever I visited.
This treat was something I often longed for and eagerly looked forward to. During my Grandma’s lifetime it was a gift that made me feel special, deeply valued and held.
It is my intention to create intimate objects that invoke familiar sentiment.
